It is with pleasure that we invite you to the coming event:
One Publishes to Find Comrades: Project Launch Pub
With performance, Sandberg publications, book launch, drinks and music. Pub will merge with fanfare, take over the space and form the programme of the evening. Come by to sip some drinks, listen to music and see how students of the Sandberg Instituut think about publishing.
Pub is an interdisciplinary initiative by students of the Sandberg Instituut: a group of artists, writers, editors and designers who aim to structure and establish a publishing practice at their school. While investigating the possibilities within the context of an artistic master programme, Pub functions as a hub and platform to identify interdisciplinary connections and accelerate collaborations amongst the students or third parties.
In order to understand past aspirations and approaches, Pub gathered a collection of publications from alumni, current students and the department's archives, which will be displayed during the event and processed in a reading performance by Stefanie Rau.
The thinking process, which has been materialised in a publication, will be launched and shared during the event. The book is conceived as a compilation of dialogues that inform our practice and seek to map issues and tendencies in the contemporary publishing landscape. In conversation with Delphine Bedel, Tom Clark, Florian Cramer, Mariana Lanari, Silvio Lorusso, Koen Nutters, TXTbooks, Pieter Verbeke and Jan Wenzel the texts touch upon a broad scope of topics, from curation to authorship, ownership and politics, technology and communities, to archives, networks and history.
Bar & music
The event will be accompanied by a bar concept by Laura Pappa and music by Pastimes.
